- I'd like to thank Alan Kingwell once again for his inspirational style which led me to to create this.

Inspired by greatness- Oil on mdf- 24"x48"

 I was looking around on you tube one day and came across an artist whose art I truly believe could rival the works of the masters. Alan Kingwell is absolutely an amazing landscape artist and I've been inspired once again to take up painting thanks to him taking the time to put up his videos on the internet. I tried to learn as much as I could from his videos but as always my own artistic style took over the painting and as much as I'm happy with the way it came out, it does his work no justice. It also however was not meant to be a replica of his works, just using them as inspiration.

just bought myself a Wacom Cintiq 12WX and so far I love it. However, I'm having a little trouble matching up my Macbook pro's monitor and the Cintiq's colors so that's why I'm putting this new (incomplete) painting up.

Is it difficult to become a concept artist or a illustrator? do you have to have a degree in art? Where do you go to start something like that? And what do the people doing the hiring look for when sifting through all of the thousands of artists out there? These are serious questions that I've been thinking about for a while now.
