Twinergy (thumbnail painting) Oil on canvas 8" x 10"
I got this idea from running around in the World of Warcraft, not that it really has anything to do with the game. I was basically just trying to capture the essence of some of the zones. They have an amazing amount of beautiful lands to explore in WoW and after playing off and on for the past 6 years I'm surprised that I haven't done a lot more, there's certainly plenty of inspiration there.
Anyway, this is the first version of the larger painting I'm working on now.Basically a thumbnail painting which now I'm glad I made because it's given me ideas of what to put into the bigger piece. It's also given me a chance to put some rocks into my work, something that was previously non-existent. I'm thinking of some large crystals (WoW) and maybe more energy floating around. We'll see.

Etsy shop re-opened
So with a year or so off from selling my paintings online, I've decided to try it again but this time I'll be adding giclee prints and smaller sized canvas originals among other items like greeting cards (maybe). Hopefully these will offer more options to people that might want my art but can't afford the more expensive paintings. Here's the link to the shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/VenskeArtStudio?ref=si_shop Thanks in advance, even if your just going to look. It's all appreciated.

Inspired by greatness- Oil on mdf- 24"x48"
I was looking around on you tube one day and came across an artist whose art I truly believe could rival the works of the masters. Alan Kingwell is absolutely an amazing landscape artist and I've been inspired once again to take up painting thanks to him taking the time to put up his videos on the internet. I tried to learn as much as I could from his videos but as always my own artistic style took over the painting and as much as I'm happy with the way it came out, it does his work no justice. It also however was not meant to be a replica of his works, just using them as inspiration.
